Terms of Service
LeadPuppet is an open-source project. This website (leadpuppet.com) describes it and links to its source code on GitHub. The website does not run searches or return any leads: to use LeadPuppet, you download the software and run it yourself. By using this website you agree to these terms.
1. The software is MIT licensed
Your use, copying, modification and distribution of the LeadPuppet source code is governed by the MIT License included in the repository, not by these terms. The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, as stated in that license.
2. You are the operator
When you run LeadPuppet, you run it on your own machine or servers, with your own Google Places and OpenAI API keys, under those providers’ terms. We do not operate your instance and never see your searches, results or keys.
3. Where the data comes from
- Business listings (name, website, phone, address, rating) come from the Google Places API.
- Contact names, roles and emails come from the publicly accessible pages of those businesses’ own websites, read automatically with pattern matching and, when that finds nothing, an AI model.
Results are not guaranteed to be accurate: emails may be wrong, inferred, or out of date, and each lead’s confidence label is a rough hint, not a promise. Check the data before you rely on it.
4. You are responsible for how you use the data
You decide whether and how to contact the people on your list, and you are solely responsible for doing so lawfully. In particular:
- If you send commercial email to recipients in the United States, comply with the CAN-SPAM Act: honest sender and subject information, a clear way to opt out (and honoring opt-outs quickly), and a valid physical postal address.
- If you contact people elsewhere (for example the EU, UK or Canada), other rules can apply, such as consent or legitimate-interest requirements and anti-spam laws. Find out which rules cover you before you contact anyone.
- Do not use the data for harassment, fraud, or anything unlawful.

5. The website
This website is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Its example output is illustrative and built from fictional data. It relies on third parties, including Vercel (hosting and analytics) and GitHub (source code hosting), whose own terms apply to their part.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeadPuppet and its author are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of this website, the software, or the data it returns, including how you contact people with it.
